April - First moose of the season, in Averill.

May - We came across this big moose while hiking in Coventry. We saw him long before he saw us. He was none too happy with our presence, gave out a big bellow and took off at a good clip. Thankfully, it was in the opposite direction!

May - this was one of two moose we saw this day, both on Interstate I91 right near the Newport exit. The first was at the beginning of our trip (couldn't get a picture of that one - scary thing to see a moose while you're going 65 mph!), a big male whose body stood higher than the car in front of us. This little one was on the side of the same road, only at the end of our trip home later in the day.

May - This scrawny young one was seen near Notch Pond Rd. between Island Pond and Bloomfield, a very "moosey" area.
